Donna Lasinski

Donna Lasinski is running for her second two-year term in the State House of Representatives for District 52. She was unopposed in the Aug. 7 Democratic primary and faces Republican Teri Aiuto in the Nov. 6 general election.

Lasinski was elected to her first term in 2016, defeating Barb Fuller in the Aug. 2, 2016 Democratic primary and Republican Randy Clark in that year's general election. Since taking office, she has sponsored more than a dozen resolutions and bills and co-sponsored over 450 resolutions and bills. She serves on the following House standing committees: Communications & Technology, Energy Policy, and Insurance.

Before running for state representative, Lasinski served as a trustee of the Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education, elected in 2014. She was the AAPS Board's treasurer.

Lasinski was also founder and president of ThinkStretch LLC, an Ann Arbor firm that developed and markets the ThinkStretch Summer Learning Program.

Prior to her election to the AAPS board, Lasinski was active in the school district, including several leadership roles in the PTO. Lasinski has an undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Michigan and a master’s of business administration from Northwestern University.

She is married to Mike Lasinski, CEO and managing director of 284Partners and a partner in Detroit City FC, a semi-professional soccer team. Laskinski lives in Scio Township and has three teenage sons.

Norman Herbert, retired University of Michigan treasurer, is serving as Lasinski's campaign treasurer.
