Jeffrey Gallatin

Jeffrey Gallatin runs Gallatin Realty, an Ann Arbor firm. He is unopposed in the Aug. 7 Republican primary and will face incumbent Democrat Jason Morgan in the Nov. 6 general election. Morgan is also unopposed in the August primary.

Gallatin has made several bids for public office as a Republican. In 2012, he ran for Washtenaw County sheriff against incumbent Democrat Jerry Clayton. He lost to Clayton with 29% of the votes.

In 2014, Gallatin ran for District 8 Washtenaw County Commissioner against then-incumbent Democrat Yousef Rabhi. He told the Ann Arbor Observer that he was running because "It's time we learn to live within our financial budget, and not go on the assumption that we don't really have to worry about expenses because we can just generate more tax dollars if we need it." Rabhi defeated Gallatin, who received 17.42% of the votes.

Gallatin lives in downtown Ann Arbor. He is serving as treasurer for his campaign.
