Marisa Rader Huston

OUTCOME: Angela Davis and Bill Milliken Jr. were elected to the Washtenaw Community College board of trustees. With 65.87% turnout, Davis and Milliken received 15.21% and 15.36% of votes, respectively. For more results, check the Washtenaw County elections site.

Marisa Rader Huston works for the Ann Arbor District Library and is the former finance and communications director for the Anil Kumar U.S. Congressional campaign. This is her first bid for elected office.

Previously, Huston worked as a graduate intern with the Peace Education Initiative at the University of Toledo, and as an intern with the Michigan Young Democrats. She also has served as a lead organizer with the Washtenaw County Workers’ Center, which focused on issues affecting low-wage and immigrant workers.

In 2015, Huston earned a master’s degree in peace education from the University for Peace. She graduated from Beloit College in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and religious studies. She lives on Ann Arbor’s west side. Her mother, Rosemary Rader, is a retired WCC chemistry and science instructor.
