Patricia Manley

Patricia Manley is a retired educator and Ann Arbor Public Schools trustee. She is one of four incumbents running for re-election on Nov. 6 in a field of eight candidates. There are four open seats in this nonpartisan race for a four-year term.

Manley was first elected to the Ann Arbor Public Schools board in November 2014. She received 13,845 votes, coming in fourth among 10 candidates for four open seats on the board.

Manley worked for the AAPS district for 41 years, including a decade as the principal at Thurston Elementary School. Before that she was a teacher and administrator at Huron High School.

She is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority's Delta Psi Omega chapter and has served as its president. She received the Distinguished Service Award from the Ann Arbor Branch of the NAACP, and serves as chair of its Education Committee. She also has received the Eugene Power Achievement Award from the United Negro College Fund of Washtenaw County. 

Manley previously served on the Michigan Theater Board of Directors and the Ozone House Board of Directors.

Manley received her bachelor's degree in education from Western Michigan University and her master's degree in guidance and counseling from Eastern Michigan University. 

She is married to Lamont Manley, a project manager at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research. They live on Ann Arbor's south side near Buhr Park.
